In Fes, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of historic landmarks, including the Royal Palace gate, the Blue Gate, and the Quaraouin Mosque. Your journey concludes in Casablanca, Morocco’s bustling economic center. This 5-day tour offers a comprehensive Northern Morocco experience, from cultural treasures to mesmerizing landscapes.
Your adventure begins as we pick you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier. Known as “the bride of the north,” Tangier sits at the convergence of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Spartel.
Our first day includes exploring this beautiful city, visiting the Hercules Cave, and taking in the stunning views from Cape Spartel. After a leisurely lunch, we drive inland through the city of Tetouan and the scenic Rif mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop for panoramic views before settling into your hotel in Chefchaouen for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, prepare to be enchanted by Chefchaouen, often referred to as “the blue city.” Nestled in the Rif mountains of northwest Morocco, Chefchaouen is celebrated for its blue and white-painted buildings and alleyways. As we explore the charming old Medina, you’ll discover authentic blue doors that add a stylish touch to your photographs.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch, and for those seeking adventure, hike to the Spanish mosque situated on higher ground, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the entire blue city. The day concludes as we return to your hotel.
Following breakfast, take some free time to wander the picturesque alleyways of Chefchaouen’s blue city. Later, we journey to the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the site, admiring its beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways.
Our next destination is Meknes, the Ismaili capital, where you’ll visit historic sites including Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Finally, we head to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional riad.
After breakfast, embark on a guided exploration of Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and a hub of culture and religion. Highlights of the day include the Royal Palace gate, the UNESCO-listed medieval Medina, Bab Boujloud (the Blue Gate), and visits to The Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest university.
We’ll also explore the Jewish quarter known as “the Mellah.” The day concludes with a visit to an ancient fortress, offering panoramic views of the Medina and the city before returning to your riad for the evening.
On your final day of this 5-day northern Morocco adventure, depart from Fes after breakfast. Our journey takes us to Rabat, another of Morocco’s imperial cities and the present capital. Here, you’ll visit the city’s highlights, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and The Kasbah of Oudaya.
Enjoy free time for lunch before we continue to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic center. Depending on your flight time, we may visit the Hassan II Mosque, the country’s largest mosque.
Finally, we’ll drop you off at the airport, concluding this remarkable 5-day northern Morocco tour from Tangier.
