Experience the grandeur of Morocco like never before with our 10 day Morocco adventure that begins in Tangier and takes you on a remarkable journey through the heart of this captivating country.
Your 10 day Morocco itinerary commences as we pick you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier. Known as “the bride of the north,” Tangier is a city where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Spartel. We start the tour by exploring this picturesque city, visiting the Hercules Cave and Cape Spartel.
You’ll have free time for lunch before we venture inland toward Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make stops for panoramic views before dropping you off at your Chefchaouen hotel for an overnight stay.
Today, we’ll immerse ourselves in the enchanting blue world of Chefchaouen. This picturesque city, nestled in the Rif Mountains, is renowned for its blue and white-painted buildings. We’ll wander through the charming old Medina with its authentic blue doors, and in the afternoon, you can hike to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views of the entire blue city. You’ll spend another night in your Chefchaouen hotel.
After breakfast, you’ll have some free time to explore Chefchaouen’s blue alleyways once more. Later, we’ll drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved mosaics, pillars, and archways.
Our journey then leads us to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where we’ll visit significant landmarks, including Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. We’ll continue on to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional riad.
Your day starts with a guided exploration of Fes, a city that serves as Morocco’s cultural and religious center. Highlights include the Royal Palace gate, the Medina, and the iconic Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud). With a local guide, you’ll delve into the heart of the Medina, discovering gems like the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University—the world’s oldest university.
Afterward, we’ll visit the Jewish quarter, the Mellah, and ascend to an ancient fortress for breathtaking views of the Medina. Your evening is free to enjoy at your riad in Fes.
On the 5th day in our 10 day morocco tour, following breakfast, we continue southward, passing through the city of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine-style architecture. A visit to the cedar forest introduces you to Barbary macaques that you can observe and even feed. Later, we reach Midelt, where you’ll have free time for lunch.
Our journey continues through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz Valley, with stops to admire the stunning panoramas. As the day draws to a close, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, you’ll switch to camels and ride into the dunes to witness a mesmerizing desert sunset. You’ll spend the night in a unique desert camp combining traditional nomadic tents with hotel-like comforts.
Today is dedicated to exploring the fascinating region of Merzouga. We’ll venture off-road to visit an eyeliner mine and meet nomadic families in their handwoven tents, enjoying Berber tea and traditional music. Our journey takes us to Khamlia, where you’ll experience the vibrant Gnaoua music and dance performances, introduced by inhabitants originating from sub-Saharan countries.
Free time for lunch at a local restaurant is followed by a stroll through palm groves and a visit to the wild Merzouga Lake, known as the lake of flamingos. You’ll return to Merzouga for dinner and another night in your desert camp.
Wake up early to witness a stunning Sahara sunrise before breakfast. Afterward, you’ll return to Merzouga on camels and meet your driver. Our journey continues to Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet, where you can explore the lively souk. We then proceed to Erfoud, known for its fossilized marble workshops.
Our route takes us through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves to reach the breathtaking Todra Gorges, a rock climber’s paradise. You’ll have time to explore the gorges and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Our journey continues through Boumalne Dades, with stops to admire the “monkey fingers” rock formation and enjoy panoramic views of the Dades Valley. You’ll spend the night in a hotel in the Dades Valley.
After breakfast, we head to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, home to the annual Rose Festival in May. You’ll have an opportunity to see locals showcasing their rose products, from perfumes and rose water to oils and cosmetics. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura and visit the Kasbah of Amredhyle. Continuing on to Ouarzazate, known for its film studios where famous movies and TV series have been filmed, we visit the Taourirt Kasbah.
Our next stop is the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and featured in numerous movies and TV shows. You’ll explore the Telouet Kasbah before ascending through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, with opportunities for lunch and scenic photo stops. Finally, we reach Marrakech, where you’ll spend the night in a riad.
Your day begins with a guided exploration of Marrakech’s highlights. You’ll visit the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, and the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Enjoy free time for lunch near Jemaa El-Fna square. Later, you’ll visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Garden. The evening is yours to explore Jemaa El-Fna square at your leisure.
After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your Marrakech accommodation. Depending on your flight time, we may have the opportunity to visit the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca before dropping you off at the airport, concluding your 10 day Morocco adventure from Tangier.
