Your adventure begins the moment you arrive in Marrakech. We’ll be there to greet you at the airport, ready to whisk you away to your comfortable hotel.
After you’ve had a chance to settle in, we’ll take you to Jemaa el Fna, the city’s iconic main square, where you’ll be enthralled by the nightly spectacle. Storytellers, snake charmers, vendors, and the vibrant atmosphere of this bustling square will introduce you to Morocco’s unique energy.
The following day, we set out on an overland adventure across the stunning High Atlas Mountains, navigating the winding Tizi n’Tichka pass. Along the way, we pause for scenic photo opportunities and moments to appreciate the breathtaking vistas.
Our route takes us to Ouarzazate, where you’ll be captivated by Kasbah Telouet and the famous Ait Ben Haddou, both exemplifying traditional Berber architecture and history.
Prepare for an awe-inspiring day as we journey to Todra Gorge, often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of Morocco” due to its towering canyon walls.
Witness miles of date palm trees interwoven with picturesque villages as we make our way to the desert jewel of Merzouga. Here, you’ll have leisure time to explore the sand dunes and enjoy a delectable dinner at your hotel.
Day four unfolds with a focus on cultural immersion in Merzouga. We’ll visit Khamlia Village to experience the mesmerizing rhythms of Gnawa music and dance. Sharing Moroccan mint tea with a nomadic Berber family, you’ll gain insights into their desert life and traditions.
Later, a visit to a typical Berber family provides a deeper understanding of their customs. The day culminates with a camel ride through the dunes to a luxurious desert camp, where a sumptuous meal, traditional Berber music, and a night in your private tent await.
Early risers will be treated to a spectacular Saharan sunrise. After breakfast, we return to the hotel before embarking on a journey to Rissani for an authentic souk shopping experience.
Traveling through the picturesque Ziz Valley, lined with endless date palms, we reach Midelt for lunch. Our scenic drive continues to the cedar forest in Azrou, offering a chance to spot Barbary macaques. We conclude the day in the enchanting city of Fes.
Fes is a treasure trove of history and culture, and today is dedicated to uncovering its riches. Guided by a local expert, you’ll explore the Royal Palace, various city districts, and artisans at work in the bustling souks. Witness time-honored craftsmanship using traditional tools and techniques, preserving Morocco’s artisanal heritage.
Our journey continues as we head to Meknes, an imperial city housing the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After an enlightening tour of these historic ruins, we savor lunch and proceed to Rabat, Morocco’s modern capital. Here, we visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, located within the stunning courtyard of Hassan Tower.
After breakfast, we venture from Rabat to Casablanca, where the magnificent Hassan II Mosque awaits. This architectural marvel, one of the world’s largest mosques, provides a stunning backdrop for memorable photos. Our final destination is Marrakech, where you have the option to revisit Jemaa el Fna for one last magical evening or simply unwind and reflect on your incredible journey.
On the final day of this 9 day tour from Marrakech via desert, we ensure your departure is seamless. If you have a flight scheduled, we’ll arrange transportation from your hotel or riad to the airport, allowing you to carry cherished memories of your Moroccan odyssey home with you.
